Thanks to the intense and precise engineering that goes into every upmarket watch, each timepiece is a technical marvel and work of art that is more than just what you see on the dial.
Some watches – like the two new drops featured here today – go bold and unveil what makes them tick, putting each fine gear and bearing up for display.
H. Moser & Cie’s Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Boutique Edition
The first U.S. location of independent watch brand H. Moser & Cie has opened in Silicon Valley’s The Villa Menlo Park. The brand has reached a major milestone with this new location, which provides a contemporary setting for enthusiasts and collectors to view H. Moser & Cie’s exceptional and uncommon timepieces.
The brand also debuted Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton, a new boutique exclusive, to commemorate the opening of the new store.
The new watch, which comes with a 40mm case, is made entirely of 18-carat yellow gold, including the integrated bracelet.
In addition to Globolight inserts to guarantee readability in low light conditions, the handset and indices have been redesigned with a gold-plated finish to match its radiant appearances.
An intricately skeletonised HMC 814 movement, a three-dimensional, self-winding in-house calibre with a minimum power reserve of 72 hours, is displayed on the watch face’s openworked design.
With only 17 units available for sale, the Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Boutique Edition fetches CHF125,000 (RM614,996) and can only be purchased at H. Moser’s online and physical boutiques.
Turbine Perrelet x seconde/seconde/
The 41mm-diameter watch is housed in a titanium case with a black DLC coating. The hour and minute hands are redesigned as lume-filled blades, and the dial has a yellow triangle warning sign and the phrase “Keep Hands Clear” in place of the conventional central seconds hand.
A bright yellow inscription that reads “1777” is located directly beneath the Perrelet logo and “days since last injury” – a tongue-in-cheek nod to the typical “Safety First” signs as seen in factories.
This unique creation is powered by a balance wheel that beats at 28,800 vph, an internal self-winding movement with a 42-hour power reserve, and a P-331-MH calibre.
Chronofiable and COSC have certified the movement, which is renowned for its precision and dependability. The movement is visible through the open caseback of the watch, along with a special message by seconde/seconde/.
The Turbine Perrelet x seconde/seconde/ watch is accompanied by a black rubber strap and packaged in a personalised box with an authenticity certificate.
With only 25 units available worldwide, the timepiece is selling for US$5,450 (~RM24,137) and can only be purchased through Perrelet and select retailers worldwide.
