A Lenovo Legion Go 2 Is Coming But Only When “Timing Is Right”

0

Lenovo has confirmed that a Legion Go 2 is definitely in the pipeline, but it won’t be coming anytime soon. At least, that’s what the company’s Clifford Chong had told the tech media.

During the Lenovo Innovate 2024 event at Bangkok, Chong gave an interview to TechTuber Chris Stead, telling him in no uncertain terms that a successor to the Legion Go was indeed in the works but that the brand would only release the second iteration of its gaming handheld “when the time was right”.

“We are still spending a lot of resources improving on the current Legion Go over the span of the last six months since launch. We have unlocked from day one till now a lot more experiences and there are still engineering efforts to try to bring the next wave of features to the product. Definitley, it’s a product category that we do see potential in and we continue to invest and we are looking towards when the time comes right of course having the next generation to provide even more features.”

You’ll notice that Chong’s statement didn’t include any specifics, particularly about the internals of the device. Presumably, it could be waiting on AMD and its Strix Point APU, which will be based on the red chipmaker’s next-generation Zen5 architecture and is expected to be rocking the updated RDNA3.5 GPU architecture. It’s the logical next step, especially for its direct rival ASUS, who has also confirmed that it is working on a successor to the Ally.
