Earlier this week, Acer annouced new Nitro 14 and Nitro 16 gaming laptops. These laptops are powered by AMD’s Hawk Point Ryzen 8040 Series mobile processors, as well as NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 and 40 Series discrete GPUs.

Starting with the Nitro 14, the laptop features a 14.5-inch 16:10 panel, with a choice of either FHD+ (1920 x 1200) or QHD+ (2560 x 1600) resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Internally, the laptop comes with up to a Ryzen 7 8845HS , 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, and up to an RTX 4060 8GB discrete GPU. Powering all these is a 76WHr battery and in total, the laptop weighs just a little over 2kg.

Pricing for the Nitro 14 starts at US$1,299.99 (~RM6,197) and will be available in North America starting May this year. At the time of writing, there is still no word on local availability or pricing.

Moving on, the Nitro 16 is the bigger and somewhat beefier model of the two, sporting a 16-inch IPS+ 16:10 display with a 165Hz refresh rate across all SKUs. To that end, consumers will have a choice between a standard FHD+ (1920 x 1200) panel or an FHD+ panel that is NVIDIA Advanced Optimus Capable, while the highest tier SKU will have a maximum resolution of QHD+ (2560 x 1600) and is also Advanced Optimus Capable.

Internally, the Nitro 16 can be fitted up to a Ryzen 9 8945HS, an RTX 4060 8GB, up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 of storage, and up to 32GB DDR5 RAM. To keep the laptop powered, it also houses the same 76WHr battery as its 14-inch sibling. Being bigger, it’s also heavier at 2.43kg.

Like the 14, the Nitro 16 will be available starting May with a starting SRP of US$1,399.99 (~RM6,674). Again, there is still no local pricing or availability for the laptop.
