Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster have unveiled their third collaboration – and we’re stoked!
An exploration of the intersection between classicism and futurism, the collection features 20 distinctive eyewear designs that merge cybercore aesthetics, metallic materials, cable temples, and Maison Margiela’s iconic four white stitches.
The campaign captures a dynamic and tension-filled interaction between two futuristic, unknown entities, reflecting both brands’ deep exploration of futurism and reinvention.
The collection includes 8 sunglasses and 12 optical frames, offering statement pieces in silver and green metallics, as well as signature colourways in black, grey, navy, ivory, red, and tortoiseshell. The eyewear is distinguished by its bold, avant-garde end-tip designs.
To commemorate the third collaboration, special pop-up spaces will be held in seven cities worldwide. As an extension of the classicism-meets-futurism narrative, the spaces feature cybercore-inspired abstract humanforms, raw patterns, and sheer materials in harmonious balance.
The contrast between grand scale and restrained movement evokes an unfamiliar emotional response, while the cable temple detailing reflected in the eyewear temples is seamlessly integrated into the spatial design, achieving a cohesive visual identity.
