Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin has hit out at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim after the latter accused him of corruption while delivering his winding-up speech on the 12th Malaysia Plan mid-term review at the Dewan Rakyat today.
Calling it a “black day for the Malaysian Parliament”, Radzi said he was accused without any evidence by Anwar, who was explaining the discharge not amounting to an acquittal, or DNAA, granted to Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
“I stood up to ask Tambun to withdraw his statement because it involved allegations against me. But the speaker (Johari Abdul) asked if he (Anwar) was sure.
“If he says he’s sure, then I’m sure of many things,” he said at a press conference in Parliament.
Earlier, opposition MPs staged a walkout from the Dewan Rakyat, alleging that Johari was not being fair to Radzi.
Radzi, meanwhile, refused to accept Anwar’s explanation that the word “Putrajaya” in his comment referred to the Putrajaya administration and not him.
“I’m confident that Tambun is a sodomiser,” Radzi had then responded, referring to Anwar’s past convictions in two sodomy cases.
