“Mom and her new elderly dementia and cancer nursing girl. She’s from Sabah, with four years of working experience. She previously worked in a nursing home, where she took care (of) the terminally ill patients too,” Chef Wan shared. “Their agent charged RM180 a day from 9am to 6pm daily. For a month, (I spend) about RM5,800 or more, including OT.”
He added, “I’ll just let them get to know each other first while my mom is still healthy. When the time comes, she can handle her well. At this moment, she only works during the daytime, as in the evening, my maid and I are still around to handle her. I feel at ease that she gets a professional to help to shower her, change her diapers, feed her breakfast, give her medication and a bit of exercise, as well as making sure that she has her morning and afternoon nap.”
In the same post, the 64-year-old pointed out that he’s willing to spend more money for his mom to get the best medical treatment. According to Chef Wan, “It’s okay. We can always look for money, but parents are everything. You must always try to give her the best possible care so that she is happy and in comfort. There’s no need to buy Gucci shoes or Prada bags anymore.
Chef Wan’s post has since garnered over a thousand heart-warming comments from his followers. Most of them were truly inspired by his affectionate gesture towards his mother.
