Meeting celebrities in the wild is always an experience because most of the time, you’ll get to see their true nature. Luckily, Hong Kong actor Sean Lau Ching Wan (刘青云) turned out to be a very friendly and humble guy!
The 59-year-old actor has always kept a low profile, despite having won Best Actor several times in both the Hong Kong Film Awards and Golden Bauhinia Awards. As such, this netizen was absolutely delighted to run into Sean Lau while hiking, even more so when he was super nice about it too!
As the netizen explained on 小红书, she had been hiking on 13th November near Guangdong, China when she spotted a familiar face on the trail. However, this was someone she had mostly seen on-screen. As such, she was understandably excited to actually meet Sean Lau in person.
“(I was) super shocked!” she shared later, adding that Sean had been “super friendly“, “so handsome“, and “worth it“. From the photos, it was apparent that Sean was dressed sensibly in a green T-shirt and sports pants for his hike. He also had sunglasses and a cap on hand.
Still, the simple and practical outfit clearly didn’t stop his charm from shining through, as the fan was delighted to report. She also shared that Sean had been hiking by himself that day, his wife Miss Hong Kong 1991 winner Amy Kwok Oi Ming (郭蔼明) absent from the trip.
Netizens later pointed out that Sean was actually wearing the same outfit he had on when meeting TV host Wong Man Ling (汪曼玲). Many found his habit of keeping things simple, including his outfit, praiseworthy.
Sean Lau climbed his way to the top from being a supporting actor, with legendary actor Chow Yun-fat even taking an interest in his career at one point and offering him opportunities. With a demeanour like that, we can certainly see how they got along so well!
