K-pop idols are often praised for their great teamwork and enviable friendships. However, behind the happy moments lie some disagreements that sometimes end in physical altercations.
Thankfully, these idols have worked out their differences, and they’re moved on – enough to even bravely share their fights with the world. Here are eight K-pop idols and groups who have admitted to fighting their groupmates:
Super Junior
As a group with more than two decades of experience, it’s no surprise that Super Junior (슈퍼주니어) has had their fair share of fights. The idols are also not shy about their squabbles, even comedically reenacting them on variety shows. Funnily enough, the K-pop icons’ many fights have become infamous amongst netizens, so much so that some have “voted” for the most legendary Super Junior fights!
L & Sungyeol (INFINITE)
INFINITE (인피니트) members have proven their close relationship time and time again, but the idols didn’t always get along. At one point in their career, members L (엘) and Sungyeol (이성열) had a disagreement and decided to physically fight it out. Unfortunately, it ended with L getting a split lip. While the fight immediately stopped after the injury, the idol then had to proceed with his schedule with an obvious cut on his lip.
Jin & V (BTS)
BTS (방탄소년단) is one of the biggest boy bands in the world, but some fights were bound to happen during their career. One fight happened between members Jin (진) and V (뷔) during their 2017 world tour, “Wings”. The moment was also caught on camera in the tour documentary, so fans everywhere could see what happened. Thankfully, the two vocalists managed to work things out, but V did tear up after the argument.
GOT7
GOT7 (갓세븐) is known for their family-like relationship, which means the seven idols fight like family members too! Hilariously, most discord between the GOT7 wasn’t caused by anything serious, instead, it’s mostly caused by food. One infamous fight between JayB (제이비) and Jackson (잭슨) started because the leader mistakenly thought the latter had eaten his chicken wing, only to find out a year later that the real culprit was BamBam (뱀뱀).
Lee Hongki & Minhwan (FTISLAND)
FTISLAND (FT아일랜드) has been through a lot in their 18 years together, so it’s understandable that the members have fought each other. During a talk show appearance, member Jaejin (이재진) recalled how the band’s staff once had to call him to break up a fight between Hongki (이홍기) and Minhwan (최민환). While the fight ended before Jaejin arrived, he said he could still feel the tension in the air, hinting at how heated the fight got.
Taeyeon & Tiffany (Girls’ Generation)
Of course, male idols aren’t the only ones who have gotten into fights with their groupmates. Legendary girl group Girls’ Generation (소녀시대) are known for their sisterly bond, but members Taeyeon (김태연) and Tiffany (티파니) once fought right before a concert that almost caused them to cancel a duet performance. Thankfully, the two singers managed to talk things through and were able to continue with their scheduled duet.
Jihyo & Jeongyeon (TWICE)
Since their debut in 2015, TWICE (트와이스) has never seen a line-up change, which shows their close relationship. However, leader Jihyo (지효) once confessed to having fought with Jeongyeon (정연) during their trainee days. Shockingly, the argument escalated into a full-blown fistfight and Jihyo even punched a wall. The two would later make up but admitted that they don’t remember why they fought in the first place.
Moonbyul & Solar (MAMAMOO)
All four members of MAMAMOO (마마무) are known for having strong personalities, so it’s not hard to see how a simple disagreement could escalate into a physical altercation. Rapper Moonbyul (문별) admitted that she and Solar (솔라) get into fights quite often and that Wheein and Hwasa act as their mediators. However, the fights never last long, and the girl group members will quickly make up and move on.
