Google To Release NotebookLM App For Mobile Devices Later This Month

Google is preparing to launch a mobile version of its NotebookLM platform, set to arrive on both Android and iOS on 20 May 2025. While the app listings are already live on the Play Store and Apple App Store, downloads won’t be available until the release date. In the meantime, you can register your interest to receive a notification once the app becomes available.

Like the web version, the Google NotebookLM mobile app offers largely the same features, based on the screenshots provided. Its interface has been adapted for smartphones, with top tabs allowing you to sort notebooks by Recent, Shared, Title, or Downloaded. A floating button at the bottom of the screen lets you create new notebooks directly from the home page.

Each notebook card features a play button that activates the Audio Overview tool—a feature that generates podcast-style summaries of your research, voiced by two AI hosts. Users can also join these sessions and ask questions in real time. As on the web version, NotebookLM supports uploading various source types, including PDFs, websites, videos, and copied text.

The app also includes tablet support, offering a broader homescreen layout for larger displays. Additionally, NotebookLM integrates into the system share sheet, allowing users to quickly add sources from other apps.
