Honda teases 0 Series EV prototypes for CES 2025

Honda has teased two new electric vehicle (EV) prototypes that are set to be unveiled at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Both are said to be representative of the next models in the company’s 0 Series of EVs, which will be launched globally in 2026.

At CES 2024, Honda announced the 0 Series with two concepts called the Saloon and Space Hub that are said to be developed following its ‘Thin, Light and Wise’ approach. The company isn’t providing much in the way of details about its upcoming debuts, although it did say it will focus on the ‘Wise’ aspect.

At the core of the ‘Wise’ value is a system on chip (SoC) that will support 0 Series models and software defined vehicles (SDV) – an overview of this will be provided at CES 2025. Additionally, Honda says it will introduce a new vehicle operating system (OS) and automated driving technologies that are set to feature in 0 Series models.

The shadowy image accompanying the CES 2025 announcement shows two vehicles with only their rear lighting visible. The one on the left looks to be an evolution of the Saloon concept, as evident by its aerodynamic shape, low roofline and “infinity mirror” taillights.

As for the other vehicle, it appears to be a boxy SUV with U-shaped rear lighting that wraps around the rear window, as well as a pair of LED stoplights. The high-riding mystery vehicle also seems to protrude quite a bit.

Honda has already said back in May this year that it plans to launch seven models under the 0 Series. These include a sedan, a mid-size SUV and an entry-level SUV by 2026. In 2027, there will be a large three-row SUV, while a compact SUV debuts in 2028, followed by a small-size SUV in 2029 and a compact sedan in 2030.
