Hong Kong Actor Q Bobo Dines On Durian With Actor Philip Keung In Kuala Lumpur

Many Hong Kong celebrities relish their time in Malaysia, whether visiting friends or simply vacationing, showing their deep appreciation for our country. Just yesterday (28th May, Tuesday), another Hong Kong celebrity shared his admiration for Malaysians and our food on social media.

Indian Hong Kong-born actor Q Bobo (喬寶寶), also known as Gill Mohindepaul Singh (喬保羅), recently enjoyed a memorable meeting with renowned movie star Philip Keung (姜皓文), during his visit to Malaysia. Philip is currently in Kuala Lumpur, filming for an upcoming project. On 28th May, Q Bobo shared about the meeting on Instagram, posting photos of himself, Philip, and several friends indulging in durians. In his caption, he highlighted the challenge of discerning the prices and authenticity of various durian types like Musang King, D24, D13, and Red Prawn, playfully suggesting that Keung was the best person to consult.

Q Bobo also expressed his fondness for Malaysia in a separate Facebook post, describing it as a place “filled with laughter and warm, friendly people.” He praised the country’s vibrant tourist destinations and the rich culinary landscape influenced by diverse cultures such as Malay, Chinese, and Indian, calling Malaysia a “paradise for food hunters.” He also listed the top dishes to try, including nasi lemak on the top of the list followed by satay, laksa, rendang, and lastly durian.

His Facebook post garnered significant attention from locals, who eagerly flocked to recommend their favourite foods. One netizen commented, “Laksa is different according to the places where they come from,” explaining the variations of laksa between Northern and Southern Malaysia. Others suggested he try Indian cuisines like “fish curry and putu mayam.” However, the majority of comments were from locals warmly welcoming him to Malaysia.

It’s truly satisfying to see tourists enjoying our culture and the unique charm of our country. What’s even more exciting is seeing celebrities from outside Malaysia posting about their stay and sincerely praising our country. As Malaysians, we hope more tourists and well-known personalities will visit the country and make great memories with family and friends.
