How to make a landing page is something that has confused people for years with the Internet Marketing industry. When really its not all that hard, with some basic instruction and easy to follow step by step instructions you can do it too, usually in less than 10 minutes.
How To Make A Landing Page Step # 1 – Getting The Right Landing Page Templates
The first step is really the secret to creating stunning and high converting squeeze pages every single time and it's having access to some top notch squeeze page templates. With out these, you will have to build everything from scratch and it will take you a long time. I'll talk more about those later, for now I'll assume you have some great ones at your disposal.
How To Make A Landing Page Step # 2 – Using An HTML Editor
Open up an HTML editor like Dreamweaver or Komposer if you do not want to spend the money on DW and need some free ware. It does virtually everything Dreamweaver does except its free. Only perk to having DW is that everything is well organized within it and its very easy to use.
Once you've got that open, you'll need to bring your squeeze page template files into your HTML editor. You can do that by right clicking any of the files you find inside the folder and clicking "open with", then just select your favorite HTML editor.
How To Make A Landing Page Step # 3 – Editing Your Copy
Now it actually gets pretty easy because with an HTML editor, all you really have to click on the text you want to change and just type what you want it to say. Obviously specific to the content of your offer or whatever your purpose for using a capture page is.
If you want to change any of the images, photoshop will come in really handy here because it works together with dreamweaver to simply save and import your new images to your capture page and see what they look like live, before you upload them. If you do not have photoshop you can download a free program called GIMP. Just Google it.
How To Make A Landing Page Step # 4 – Integrating Your Form Code
Now comes the tricky part, importing your form code. If you're using a good template, this will be easy, if not, it could cost you hours of time trying to troubleshoot it.
Whether you're using Aweber, GetResponse or some other autoresponder service, it pretty much works the same way. You'll need to login to your account there and generate your form code. Make sure you grab the pure HTML code because you will need to pull certain elements from that code and paste them into your squeeze page to make it work properly.

Hopefully that helps you see exactly what you need to make the form code function properly. Just remember, I'm using Get Response for this one and what you see there is exactly what you need to pull, and nothing more.
How To Make A Landing Page # 5 – Testing It Locally
Once you have your form code setup, you'll need to make sure it works properly, along with the rest of your capture page template. To do this, you'll want to switch to Live View with your HTML editor to see exactly what your page will look like, live on the web.
If everything looks like you want it to and you test your form code by entering your email into the form on the page and it goes where you want it to go, then you're good and your ready to move on to the next step.
How To Make A Landing Page # 6 – Uploading Via FTP
This part is pretty easy if you have the right software, I recommend using File Zilla because its free and its a great program. Once you have that installed, you'll have your your host name which is your domain name, your user name which is your hosting using name with whoever your host with and your password, which is your hosting password. Just pop those in and you'll be ready to go.
Uploading is pretty easy, all you need to do is drag and drop the files. But first you'll need to setup a new sub folder or sub directory where you can put the files. For example, yours would look like
. Once you got that folder created, just go ahead and drop the files in there, wait for them to upload and your good to go.How To Make A Landing Page # 7 – Testing It Live
Now that you've got your files live on the web, its time to test them and make sure everything is working properly. To do this, just navigate to the new subdirectory you created. So for example, if you called your folder "newfolder" you'll want to go to
to see it live.Go there and test your form code again, just to double check and make sure its working live on the web and then just look over your squeeze page to see if everything looks the way you want it to.
