Chery’s sub-brand, the iCAUR (iCAR in China), has made its official debut at the Malaysian Autoshow 2025. The automaker previewed three fully electric SUVs – the iCAUR 03, iCAUR 03T and iCAUR V23, with the 03 leading the charge as the first model slated to go on sale within Q3 2025.
The iCAUR 03 features a boxy design with a body structure that has a reinforced all-aluminium multi-cage design and battery armour. It also has a full-width blacked-out light bar. It also has i-shaped LED lighting at the front and rear. Other design elements include flared-out fenders and an in-built tailgate storage box.
In terms of the interior, the iCAUR 03 gets a 15.6-inch infotainment system and a small 9.2-inch digital metre cluster. It also has a squared steering wheel with a flat bottom, with the i-badge incorporated in the middle. Other features include powered and ventilated front and back seats, a 12-speaker INFINITY sound system and a 540-degree ‘Transparent Chassis’ camera.
The SUV comes in two variants: 2WD and iWD, with an estimated price of RM145,000 and RM155,000 respectively. The 2WD has a 135kW (181hp) motor delivering 220Nm of torque, paired with a 65.7kWh LFP battery offering up to 426km of range (NEDC).
On the other hand, the iWD model features a dual motor, with the front motor delivering 70kW (94hp) and 165Nm, while the rear motor gives 135kW (181hp) and 220Nm. Combined, it produces 275hp and 385Nm of torque. The iWD comes with a 69.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivering 418km (NEDC) of range. Additionally, both models charge from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.
iCAUR Malaysia is now welcoming Registrations of Interest (ROI) for the upcoming iCAUR 03. Malaysian customers can secure their booking with a fully refundable deposit of RM1,000.
Alongside the 03, the iCAUR V23 with a rugged-looking design and a much squared shape reminiscent of classic off-road vehicles like the Ford Bronco, and the sportier iCAUR 03T, were also previewed. However, there was not much information given about these two models by the automaker for the moment.
