Is Kelly Kwok Getting Disqualified From Miss Hong Kong 2024?

The highly-anticipated Miss Hong Kong pageant (香港小姐競選) is set to make a return and has already announced the top 25 contestants who will compete for the title. However, it was reported last week that 6 of those contestants have withdrawn from the prestigious competition due to the contents of the TVB contracts.

Those still in the running are gearing up for what lies ahead of them but apparently, one of those beauties competing is currently in hot waters for violating an already existing contract. Here’s what we know:

According to several reports, contestant Kelly Kwok (郭恩程) was found to have already signed to another agency called ACE Entertainment. A spokesperson for the agency stated that the winner of the 2023 Face of Hong Kong contest applied to compete in the Miss Hong Kong 2024 pageant without informing the company beforehand.

Due to this, she has violated one of the terms of the contract. After news broke out, TVB issued a statement in response to the situation saying that the 23-year-old’s contract is currently being investigated. “The Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant consistently upholds stringent standards of fairness. The Kelly Kwok’s contract incident is currently being handled by the legal department. During this process, no public statements will be provided,” the broadcasting channel wrote in their statement.

At the time of writing, neither Kelly Kwok nor her representatives have given updates on the legal case. Will she be disqualified from competing in the upcoming Miss Hong Kong pageant? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates.
