Seen plenty of the Jaecoo J7 on the road? Your suspicions are correct; the handsome SUV is selling well. Jaecoo Malaysia has reported sales of 7,041 units of the J7 in the five months after its launch in July 2024. That’s around 1,400 units per month, a high figure for a newcomer in the C-SUV segment.
Jaecoo Malaysia is attributing the achievement to investments in an extensive dealer network, warehouse and production assets. The company recently recognised the 12 top performing dealerships at its first-ever dealership awards.
“We appreciate our customers for their faith in the Jaecoo brand and we will remain dedicated to deliver on our brand promise with best-in-class vehicles and a premium ownership experience. The awards recognise our dealer network which play a vital role in the brand’s overall achievement. We will continue to expand our dealer network, in line with our ambition to provide the absolute best customer experience,” said Jaecoo Malaysia VP Emily Lek.
Johor-based dealership Auto Galaksi took home the trophy for highest sales. Also recognised at the inaugural dealership awards were Gagner Auto, ES Premium Holdings, Luxury Legend, Siang Hin (KL), Apple Autotech, Kluster Automobile, Carshen, AAW Nexus, BH Premium Auto, Indah Utara Enterprise and Tropical Impact Auto.
Jaecoo Malaysia says that it will be expanding its evaluation to include Customer Service Index (CSI) and Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) scores, among other criteria, this year.
The company’s second product – the Omoda C9, was launched in December 2024 – and next up is the J7 PHEV, which launch is set to happen next month. Like the petrol-powered J7, the plug-in hybrid will be CKD locally assembled from launch at Chery’s Shah Alam plant. Estimated price from RM170k – full details here.
