Some timepieces aren’t built to last – but this doesn’t apply to the new watches on our radar today.

From a piece that embraces the love of nature, to a hardy, vintage-inspired chronograph – these durable pieces will stand with you through thick and thin.

G-SHOCK x Charles Darwin Foundation

Casio is no stranger to collaborations with various brands and institutions. However, this time around, the Japanese multinational company has teamed up with the Charles Darwin Foundation for two limited-edition, wildlife-focused pieces for you to enjoy.

Inspired by the diverse wildlife of the Galápagos Islands, the GAB2100CD1A4 and GAB2100CD1A7 merge the toughness that G-SHOCK is known for with an intricacy that celebrates the diverse life on the islands. These releases show the brand’s dedication to persevering two of the most beloved species found in the region, the GAB2100CD1A4’s Galápagos marine iguana and the GAB2100CD1A7’s Galápagos penguin.

Each version boasts special in-dial details, such as ocean wave-inspired patterns as well as the map of the Galápagos. Every feature has been meticulously integrated to better convey the beauty that this island has to offer.

With the Charles Darwin Foundation’s mission to preserve the unique ecosystem of the Galápagos, these pieces are made with bio-based resin bands that feature custom printing that integrates the foundation’s slogan with the main clasp displaying its respective animal. This environmentally-friendly design reflects G-SHOCK’s commitment to sustainability of the wildlife and their respective ecosystems.

Despite all these alterations to the base design, these watches still feature all the hallmarks of a G-SHOCK watch. These include the iconic shock-resistant structure, 200-meter water resistance, Bluetooth connection, hand shift feature, and world time of 48 cities. It also has a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms, and a double LED light to help you tell the time in the dark.

G-SHOCK x the Charles Darwin Foundation watches are available now, online via G-SHOCK’s official website and select physical retailers. Each piece retails for US$170 (~RM766).
