PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says the country should leverage on its political stability to improve its governance.
“No country, regardless of its wealth, can elevate itself and its society without responsible management,” he was quoted by Bernama as saying.
Anwar said this to the Malaysian delegation at a dinner event in Laos tonight, where he is attending the 44th and 45th Asean Summits.
He said that political stability allowed his administration to introduce clear policies in the industrial, digital, energy, and semiconductor sectors.
And in turn, these clear policies would help boost investor confidence.
“So far, there have been changes in this matter, however there is room for improvement.”
Anwar also said the political stability currently enjoyed by the country allowed the government to implement the necessary changes to enhance the well-being of the people and revive the national economy.
Last month, Anwar said that political stability had helped strengthen the ringgit, reduce unemployment and control inflation.
