Local singers Diorlying Tan (DIOR大穎) and Firdhaus Farmizi (菲道尔) were once the sweetheart couple of the local Chinese music scene, which is why fans were left devasted by their recent breakup after four years of dating. While the two previously denied any bad blood, recent allegations have changed the narrative.
Earlier this week, Diorlying took to social media to expose Firdhaus for allegedly cheating on her during their relationship and for continuing to slander her even after they had broken up. According to the now-deleted post, Firdhaus allegedly cheated on Diorlying with a woman from Australia. Many netizens have since gathered more information about the woman, the singer’s assistant on his Australian tour.
Firdhaus responded to Diorlying’s claims, denying that he cheated on her during their relationship and slandered her post-breakup. However, in his post, the singer admitted to having a crush on his assistant and visiting her in Australia during his free time, but the two are not dating. Towards the end of his post, the 26-year-old urged netizens to stop making false accusations towards him and his assistant.
Unfortunately, Firdhaus’ explanation only got him more hate. Many called him out, arguing that even if he didn’t physically cheat on Diorlying, he still had a crush on another woman while in a relationship, making it “mental infidelity.” Some even called on him to cancel his upcoming concert, arguing that he doesn’t deserve to perform. Some fans also took it upon themselves to counter the singer’s claims of having never slandered Diorlying after their breakup.
One now-former fan of Firdhaus posted screenshots of his messages to a fan group chat in July, exposing him for badmouthing the social media personality. In the screenshots, the artist voices annoyance at constantly being asked about Diorlying, even during his solo events. He also allegedly shunned fans who wanted to see more of Diorlying, saying, “Please don’t come to my concert, I beg you. I really don’t need you.”
Since the allegations broke out, Firdhaus has faced backlash from netizens and lost thousands of followers. The scandal also appears to have affected his work as one event reportedly removed his name from the list of performers, perhaps as damage control. Meanwhile, fans and netizens continue to show support for Diorlying.
