Man In Petaling Jaya Hires Fake “Karen” To Confront & Report Colleague’s Smelly Body Odour

Have you ever used social media to search for someone to carry out a specific task? Many have, because it’s easy and quick, and you can find the one you’re looking for in hours – like this Twitter user. However, the job they were hiring for got many intrigued.

Promoted through a DM conversation with a Twitter-famous user, this individual shared a job posting for a beautiful woman to act as a “Karen” who will report about an eatery staff with body odour. The message also included details about the job; the place, duration of work, and the pay, which was RM150 to RM250, depending on how beautiful the woman was.

According to the message, the job scope was “to eat, be annoyed by the staff and their body odour and confront them or report to the higher-ups on the spot.” The job advert got many interested – both in applying for the role and seeing if the hiring went through.

Apparently, it did – because, in a follow-up DM, the hirer shared that they had found the perfect woman for the job. They also said that the “Karen” they hired was someone who looked like an everyday customer without a noticeable digital footprint, possibly to avoid their cover getting blown.

The tweets amused many netizens looking forward to seeing how the whole thing plays out, and there were also a few tweets of potential scripts for the “Karen” during the day of the act. Meanwhile, some took the opportunity to share a few hygiene tips with others, perhaps to avoid having another “Karen-for-hire” tweet.

What do you guys think about this hiring? Do you think it’s ridiculous or would you have applied for it too?
