My FIRST wet market! ๐ŸŸ Pasar Pudu – the BIGGEST in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ NOT what I expected! ๐Ÿคฏ

I visited my first ever wet market today! Pasar Pudu in Kuala Lumpur, Malysia was definitely not what I expected! Come with me through all of the winding rows of stalls selling meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, and so so much more.

What’s your favourite foods available at wet markets in Malaysia? I loved the little bananas!

It is called banana heart (the heart of a banana tree), the purple thing you were looking at. They dont really have heart but just cuz it looks like one. Its part of the stem of banana flowers near the banana fruits. Some parts in it is edible the rest is rough fibers. The "baby bananas" you got is called pisang emas " gold bananas – because inside of it has a gold hue" otherwise called date bananas . The rest of the world mostly use Cavendish variety at one point Gros Michel / called pisang Ambun in MY ( but its wiped out outside of south east Asia due to panama disease). There are many types of banana varieties.

The purple colour bomb-shaped thing is the womb of banana flowers. When the outermost layer drops off by itself, a row of tiny flowers will be exposed and blossom. When more layers are dropped more flowers will blossom. The Malays love to use this to cook curry, yummyyyy!

you also can go to the chow kit market. there is an indoor wet market, more cleaner and more organized than the pudu market.

Wet markets are ace. This looks a bit dodgy with the live birds and that. Prefer Chow Kit myself.
