No foul play in Sungai Buloh inmate’s death, say cops

The Sungai Buloh Prison inmate was reported to have become unconscious while receiving treatment at the prison’s clinic.
PETALING JAYA: Police have found no criminal elements in the death of a 37-year-old male inmate at Sungai Buloh Prison last Sunday.
Sungai Buloh police chief Hafiz Nor said this was based on the results of an autopsy conducted at Sungai Buloh Hospital yesterday, reported Bernama.
He said the inmate was sent to the hospital after he became unconscious while receiving treatment at the prison’s clinic.
“The medical personnel from Sungai Buloh Hospital confirmed his death at 10.25pm on Sunday.
“The results of an autopsy done at 6pm yesterday at the hospital found no criminal elements and the case has been classified as sudden death,” he said in a statement.
However, Hafiz said further investigations would be conducted if necessary.
“The post-mortem results are currently pending a complete laboratory report, and blood samples have been sent to the chemistry department for analysis,” he said.
