The education ministry said morning sessions will be held as usual during the fasting month but afternoon sessions will close earlier.
PETALING JAYA: The education ministry said the morning session for schools across the country will be held during the same hours throughout Ramadan.
However, the afternoon session in Peninsular Malaysia will end at 5.30pm while the afternoon session in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will end at 5pm.
The ministry said it takes a serious view of “irresponsible posts” on social media regarding changed schooling hours during this year’s Ramadan.
“Similar to previous years, government and government-aided schools under the ministry will operate as usual during Ramadan,” it said.
“This is based on a circular which was issued by the ministry in 2022 and remains in effect.”
It advised the public to refer only to official sources and not to be influenced by misleading information on social media.
Ramadan is expected to start on March 2.
