My favourite childhood snack is the “Fusen Bubble Gum” by Japanese confectionery manufacturer Marukawa. Each piece of gum had a water-based temporary tattoo printed on its wrapper which I used to collect! The gum is still in production today according to the company’s website at

Nostalgic Brooches – 02:08
by the little dröm store (Singapore)

In the late 70s, a series of sand-based mosaic playgrounds were built by Singapore Housing and Development Board (HDB). While the most iconic of them is the Dragon Playground, my love goes to the Pelican one. My friends and I (when we were kids, obviously!) had so much fun climbing onto them when it was raining and jumping off into the flooded sandpit below. Unfortunately, all Pelican playgrounds were demolished by 2012.
