Other languages don’t defy Constitution, court hears

The use of other languages as the medium of instruction in vernacular primary schools does not violate the Federal Constitution, the Court of Appeal heard today.

Senior federal counsel Liew Horng Bin said this is because the national language is taught as a compulsory subject in those schools.
