Local automaker Perodua has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with national digital identity initiative MyDigital ID. This latest collaboration marks a significant step in the company’s journey towards a fully cashless transaction ecosystem.
Perodua’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, emphasized the importance of secure authentication, stating that the process serves as a critical starting point in ensuring user safety, backed by Malaysia’s top cybersecurity experts. He also highlighted that this collaboration is the first of its kind for the country’s automotive industry as MyDigital ID enables the company to further diversify its services to both its customers specifically and to all Malaysians in general. Zainal adds that this aligns with the government’s vision for a cashless society, reinforcing Perodua’s commitment to digital innovation and secure transactions.
Through this partnership, Perodua will integrate MyDigital ID’s secure authentication system, further enhancing the security of its cashless transaction services. By leveraging national cybersecurity expertise, Perodua aims to protect user data and build trust in digital transactions.
This MoU with MyDigital ID is just one of several strategic partnerships Perodua has formed over the past six months. Other collaborations include agreements with Petronas (Gentari), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), and Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM).
