I watched a fantastic video this afternoon regarding personal branding. The message was simple: Your Story is Your Brand.
What does that mean? We all have a unique story to share, that's what makes us all unique. The goal of our story is to connect and become relatable with others. Your story also shares your struggles and the solution to your struggle … ie your opportunity.
However, there is a cardinal rule: DO NOT MARKET YOUR OPPORTUNITY BEFORE YOUR MARKET YOURSELF.
Remember these words: PEOPLE DO NOT JOIN BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, THEY JOIN PEOPLE.
The fact of the matter is, people join people because they are selfish and want to be associated with the individual that can provide the most for their success. This is why its imperative to develop yourself, not only for your team, but also for your future.
Our story also reveals our VALUE. If you do not have anything to give to anyone, how do you expect them to follow you?
Your VALUE is what builds you up to make you become someone that people want to follow. When you have a lot to offer others they will continuously come back to you for the information they seek. This forces you to do what you need to do so you can become who you need to be in order to LEAD.
Being at the top of your organization requires a lot of responsibility to others. Are you ready for that kind of commitment to others? Be honest with yourself and ask yourself now, '' With what I know now, could I lead a small, medium, large, or powerful organization? ''
The answer will gauge your personal value to others. DO NOT be discouraged if you feel like you can only lead a small group. This only means that you have an opportunity to continue grow your mind and increase your value to others, its a positive thing! I highly recommend reflecting on your story and focusing on what it has taken for you to get to where your are today. Then visualize where you want to be in the future. Now share this with the world. That's your brand.
