Professor Natalie Sit explains the requirements and process for participating in a design competition, 9th Annual Malaysia National Championship organized by the Creative Cloud Community.
Eligibility Criteria:
Professor Natalie mentions that the competition is open to students within the age range of 13 to 22. However, she notes that institutions (schools) need to agree to allow their students to participate in the competition, indicating the need for institutional support.
Registration Process:
Once the school agrees to participate, individual students can register themselves as participants in the competition.
Qualifying Round:
The first qualifying round involves designing a poster for a non-governmental organization (NGO). The top 30 designs will be selected to proceed to the next stage.
Live Test:
The live test is described as an interesting phase. The selected participants (top 30) will be given a design topic on the day of the live test. They will then have 8 hours, including lunch, to create their designs. Importantly, they will not have access to the internet during this time, emphasizing the reliance on their intrinsic design skills.
Selection of Winners:
After the live test, the top 10 winners will be selected, and one of them will be crowned the champion. The champion will have the opportunity to represent Malaysia at the world championship in Anaheim, California.
World Championship Sponsorship:
The champion will be sponsored to represent Malaysia at the world championship in the United States.
Competition Timeline:
The grand finale of the competition is scheduled for May 21st of the current year.
