Saya dari Jerman – That means I am from Germany – Today I am practicing my Malay skills in a market

I am still in the small town of Marang here in Terengganu on the east coast of Malaysia. There was a morning market right in front of my hotel, so I thought that’s a perfect opportunity to walk around and practice my Malay speaking skills. When you visit Terengganu, I can really recommend to also check out smaller towns like this. Malaysian kampungs have a totally different vibe than the cities. Always interesting to see these kampungs, or villages, in Malaysia. I expecially love the markets, no matter if it’s a morning or night maket. Always interesting to explore, one of my favorite things to do in Malaysia while I am traveling Malaysia. So lets go into this morning market and start speaking with some locals – “Saya Dari Jerman” – I am from Germany.

The cultural diversity in this part of the world, the food, the people and the beautiful landscapes, beaches and mountains make it my absolute dream right now to travel southeast Asia.
