Following the Malaysian market launch of Shell FuelSave Diesel beginning with Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, Shell Malaysia has now launched the latest formulation of diesel fuel for Peninsular Malaysia. The latest FuelSave Diesel fuel is now being rolled out at Shell stations nationwide, and the new formulation will apply to Euro 5 B10 and B7 grades.
The headlining claim of FuelSave Diesel fuel providing up to 19 km further per tank of diesel is in comparison with an “industry standard reference fuel” based on a fuel tank size of 66 litres; the new formulation of diesel offers up to 2% improvement in fuel mileage for light duty trucks, and up to 3.75% for heavy duty trucks, Shell Malaysia explained to journalists at today’s launch event.
New to the latest formulation of FuelSave Diesel is a double-action deposit-targeting technology, which removes up to 65% of harmful deposits and prevents future build-up of said deposits in the engine’s injector nozzles, according to Shell Malaysia.
This is through the inclusion of a deposit control additive that targets and removes deposits with a combustion improver, which aid in keeping a diesel engine’s exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system cleaner, for better engine performance, reduced downtime and lower maintenance costs, according to an earlier explanation of the new fuel formulation by Shell Malaysia country business manager for commercial fuels, Voo Ket Chung.
“Shell is dedicated to supporting Malaysians by continuously improving our offerings to deliver greater value. As Malaysians navigate changes like the rationalisation of the fuel subsidy, the new and improved Shell FuelSave Diesel provides a practical solution, offering extended mileage to help drivers go further with every tank,” said Seow Lee Ming, general manager of Shell Mobility Malaysia.
