The Singapore Grand Prix is part of the Formula One World Championship and is one of the most highly anticipated events for race car enthusiasts. Every year, F1 fans will gather at the Marina Bay Street Circuit to witness their favourite racers go up against each other to earn the No. 1 spot.
As one can expect, when there’s a grand occasion, you’re bound to see famous faces attending. Over the weekend, Hollywood actor Simu Liu took to Instagram to share with fans that he was visiting Singapore. However, he’s actually been exploring around for a few days prior to the Grand Prix.
According to Mothership, the Grand Prix was only part of why he was in the area. The “Shang-Chi” star was invited as a guest speaker at the Milken Institute Asia Summit 2024 which took place on Wednesday (18th September). The 35-year-old probably didn’t announce his arrival that week to keep a low profile and to avoid excited fans from crowding the venue.
Regardless, many were still excited to see him when he made his entrance at the Grand Prix. Unfortunately, his girlfriend Allison did not join him on this trip but he was definitely not alone. Simu posed for a photo with Grammy-winner Ryan Tedder, whose band One Republic performed at the annual race event.
“Simu Liu & I just casually started a two-man boyband,” the singer captioned the Instagram story. Throughout their entire stay, the two stars, especially Ryan, shared lots of photos they visited, like the Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay. The vocalist even visited the Old Hill Street Police Station as well as checking out the heritage houses.
Other stars who were also spotted at the Grand Prix were actor-singer Jared Leto, Korean-American film producer Jason Y. Lee, Australian singer Kylie Minogue, Canadian actress Dianne Doan, American singer Lenny Kravitz and Filipino influencer-dancer Ranz Kyle. It’s evident that everyone really enjoyed their time there. Let’s hope that they’ll come visit Malaysia soon for an event.
