There is no denying that Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza has one of the most powerful and enchanting vocals in Malaysia. Her impact on the local music industry is unmeasurable and no artist has managed to achieve what she has accomplished over the years.
Since the singer has been in the business for so long, there are a few who would rather have her stay the same and stick to her old songs than focus on her new material. Here’s what the legend has to say about that:
A few days ago, Siti Nurhaliza was one of the many talented artists who performed at the Anugerah Bintang Popular award ceremony. The veteran starlet sang her new song “Magis” from her new album “Sitism” and as always, most of her diehard fans enjoyed her performance but one fan caught her attention after they criticised her new release.
The netizen replied to the mother-of-two’s post to comment that they didn’t like her new song saying, “The song you sang last night was not good. I enjoyed your old songs more.” They also suggested that the songstress should just stick to singing her old music rather than performing her new material. What the netizen probably didn’t expect was for the 44-year-old to respond to the (now-deleted) comment herself.
In her reply, Siti said, “Art is subjective. There is no good or bad. Artists produce their music and appreciate the composers who produce songs despite the changing times.”
Apart from that netizen’s comment, the legendary singer also released a statement regarding some fans’ concern for her voice after they noticed changes to her live singing. During a live broadcast with her former sister-in-law Kak Rozi, Siti explained that her voice will continue to change as she’s maturing with age.
She also said that Covid affected her lungs which makes her breathing a little more difficult than it used to be. Watch the full video below:
