Social Media Marketing Tips for a Small Business

0

In today’s busy life your business will never survive if you don’t make use of social media marketing. It has become something that stretches beyond a platform to upload selfies. Instead it has become a vital key in advertising and getting your company name into the lives of many people.

Social media marketing is an easy concept to understand, if you understand how the internet works. It is so fast that people forget the thing they’ve read 5 seconds ago before they read the next thing. It is an age of speed reading and the consumer appetite may not ever be big enough to satisfy.

There are a few tips and tricks that you can implement in order to make your company name shine among st all the tweets, grams, status updates, and friend requests on Facebook. Here is how you can do it and succeed in doing so.

1. Share images on Twitter

We know that Twitter is home to the tweet and the hashtag, and even though those are great ways of advertising, they become ineffective. Studies have shown that when you post a picture onto Twitter that your re-tweets are increased by 150%. Why? People are more inclined to receive visual aids on a positive level. A tweet = 140 characters; a picture = 1000 words. Figure it out.

2. Share content twice, three times, four times

You have to realize that social media marketing can become a full-time job in its own right. Content has to be shared more than once across all different types of social media networks. This will allow you to generate more traffic, because your second, third, and fourth shares will reach a different group of people. Another thing you have to keep in mind is time zones. You will have to make sure that New Yorker’s may only see your content 3 hours later, and who has the time to scroll back three hours? Keep it updated.

3. Be consistent

Your job as social media marketer is to keep your audience engaged. You need to make sure that users want to go onto your profile to see what else you’ve posted. One way to do this is by being consistent. Don’t just post every other day; post every day! Make sure that your posts are relevant to your business so that new users immediately know what you’re about and who you are.

4. Give context to the links you post

This is especially relevant for Pinterest users. When you post or re-pin something you need to make sure that people know what they’re going to get when they click on the link. Edit the content before you pin it and make it your own. No one likes being misdirected and people might stay away from your updates if this becomes the case.

5. Manage your time

As a social media strategist you need to manage your time. You need to know when the best time will be for you to post, when to answer any questions or queries, and when to do the rest of your work around it. People like other people who put effort into what they do, so plan, manage, and create awesome content!
