PUTRAJAYA: A policy to reassign civil servants at service counters of ministries and related agencies, in bid to improve efficiency, will be enforced today.
In a statement, the public services department (PSD) said the initiative aims to develop the skills of officers stationed at service counters, diversify their work capabilities and improve customer experience by offering more efficient and friendly service.
“This rotation involves key ministries, including the finance ministry, education ministry, health ministry and human resources ministry, among others.
“Officers at service counters will receive regular training and continuous monitoring to maintain the highest level of service quality.”
The rotation policy will also help provide the officers with the necessary exposure for various counter-related duties and enable them to efficiently handle a wider range of customer inquiries and concerns.
“The government is confident this initiative will further strengthen the country’s public service and improve the overall experience for the people.”
PSD director-general Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz, in the same statement, stressed the initiative aligns with the broader goal of public service reforms, aiming to create a more dynamic and responsive work system that meets the evolving needs of the people.
Last month, Wan Dahlan said the rotation policy for personnel stationed at counters for over five years will be implemented in stages to ensure operations are not disrupted.
