The Side of Langkawi Malaysia You DON’T See

26

Our final day on the island of Langkawi takes us to our first Bazaar Ramadan in Malaysia. A highly recommended visit by our viewers, this market did no disappoint with its sounds and smells. Along the way, we also visited the amazing Jeff who runs WOOFF Dog Sanctuary and met his 147 rescue dogs.

🐕 Please click the link down below and help us raise as much money as possible for WOOFF so that Jeff can continue his incredible work 🙏⬇️⬇️⬇️

I know it's been a few weeks, and you're definitely NOT in Langkawi anymore as I've already seen your KL video, hope you're still in M'sia… just sharing on the name of the desert you called Gula Melaka, THAT is not what's it's called. It's called Ondeh-ondeh, it's a quitisentially South East Asia desert where you'd find it in M'sia, Indonesia, Thailand, etc (I might even bet it may be Malaysian origin creation on trhe early Straits Chinese descendants – Called Baba and Nyonya – You'd read mre about them when you visit Melaka) . Indeed it's made of rice flour AND the fillings are usually INDEED gula melaka (which is what coconut palm sugar is called in M'sia). That green color is derived from supposedly Pandan (screw pine leaves) to have that pandan flavor, steamed and then rolled in fresh desiccated coconut…

I’m doing a trip to Malaysia and love your videos! Do you recommend Langkawi? I only have 8 nights so was going to do 3 in Penang and 5 in KL but could do 2 in Langkawi!
