It was a grand affair, as esteemed guest Puan Sri Cindy Lim, Executive Chairman of Pavilion Group; and Dato’ Joyce Yap, Chief Executive Officer (Retail) of Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd, officiated the unveiling of phase 1.

In conjunction with the launch, Pavilion Damansara Heights also celebrated its Malaysia Book of Records achievement of having the “Most Murano Lights on a Shopping Mall Façade” – 2,888 Murano-glass technology crystals to be exact. If all goes as planned, the mall will see 100 outlets open by the end of October. Upon full completion, this retail landscape will span across six floors, with outlets offering dining, retail, entertainment, and leisure experiences.

Skechers THE UNO @ SneakerLAH 2023

Skechers recently introduced the latest addition to its sneakers family – The UNO collection. The official launch was held at this year’s SneakerLAH event at MITEC – and not only were we there and got our hands on our own pair (which, by the way, feels extremely comfortable and light), but we also got to play fun games at the Skechers booth.

The UNO collection features seven captivating hues, each designed to offer a pleasant walking experience and add an eye-catching, vibrant touch to any outfit, with smooth, perforated synthetic upper with an Air-Cooled Memory Foam insole and a Skech-Air visible air-cushioned midsole.

The UNO collection was also part of the fashion show on the mainstage at the event space. Apart from the official launch, we also had a blast exploring MITEC, checking out what the rest of the event had to offer. Oh – don’t forget to check out Skechers’ pop-up store at Pavilion KL!

Mind & Body Studio Familiarisation @ Mandarin Oriental KL

There’s no time like the present to maintain your fitness, and Mandarin Oriental KL is ready to offer help with that! We recently got the chance to attend fitness programmes at Mandarin Oriental’s Mind & Body Studio and we had quite the experience with an invigorating yoga and Pilates class, and a very relaxing sound therapy session.

Yoga instructor Annie Wong and Pilates instructor Siu Lim, both certified specialists in their own right, guided us through a warm-up session. They prioritise the individual needs and goals of their students, and we certainly appreciated their focus and care. Lilian Po, a trained sound therapist, then helped us wind down with a sound therapy session designed to help us relax. Needless to say, we slept very well that night!

KL Design Festival 2023 Opening Ceremony

We were at the opening ceremony for the 2023 Kuala Lumpur Design Festival (KLDF), and what a blast it was. The return of the event was much anticipated by the design and creative community after the festival’s successful run in 2022. This year, the folks behind the festival promise a more captivating celebration of our local creative and cultural district under the theme ‘Sustainability and Intelligence’.

During the opening ceremony, we got to hear more about the festival and what it means to Malaysia’s creative community. Founders of KLDF – Muhamad Razif Nasruddin and Shafique Badril – and the event curators shared what goes into choosing the activities and what they hope to achieve with the festival. The night also featured an award ceremony for the team “Constant/Variable”, the winners of the KLDF Emerging Designer Programme (EDP), which supports up-and-coming local designers.

Safe Space @ Suria KLCC

We got to check out Suria KLCC’s public campaign in conjunction with World Mental Health Month, recently. Aptly called the Suria Safe Space, the public space is located at the mall’s centre court and features colourful and interactive activities for shoppers. The campaign is backed by Suria KLCC’s dedicated NGO partners and retail collaborators like Babel, The Body Shop and Estee Lauder – who all had a part in creating the wonderful space.

During the official launch, we got an introduction to the Safe Space from host Nadia Heng as she took us on a mini tour. The space includes three zones; ‘Physical & Spiritual’, ‘Emotional & Mental’ and ‘Social & Leisure’, which all feature information about the importance of caring for our mental well-being. Xixili’s ‘Best Of The Breasts’

Xixili decided that this year, instead of doing their usual October lingerie fashion show, they would focus on the issue of breast cancer. Well, they certainly got our attention with their “Best of the Breasts” show!

Produced and performed by local theatre company, Sifu Productions, the show thoroughly entertained and captivated us with its array of skits. Touching on various life experiences, such as having periods (for women), to dreaming up birth control for men, each performance left us contemplative and above all, in stitches.

We also got to enjoy light refreshments made and served by Engkita, a social project by Bay Laurel Fine Foods, which empowers women from the B40 and refugee community. All in all, it was definitely a show we wouldn’t have missed!

LEGO Play Is Your Superpower Playdate

Adults work hard; it’s only right that they play hard too, with their kids. And what better way to play than with LEGO? We went down to Common Ground at Jaya One, where we celebrated World Play Day by building our ideal or dream office space. Of course, kids were the star of the show, and it was for the best, as they came up with creative ideas, such as coffee showers, a mobile office, and even a pet dinosaur.

The LEGO Group pushed the initiative to better nurture a child’s innate creativity and social skills. Not only that, it granted an amazing opportunity for parents to spend quality time with them and make memories together. Of course, kids-at-heart couldn’t help but build their dream spaces as well, proving that no one is too old for LEGO.
