We now have the list of the top 20 best-selling car models in Malaysia for the month of February 2025, thanks to the JPJ registration data now available online. Surprise, surprise, the Perodua Bezza is back on top (9,712 units), after finishing a rare second behind the Axia in the previous month.
In fact, the Axia (7,096) has fallen from first to third, ending up right behind the Myvi (7,126). The fact that the top two models are currently Perodua’s two oldest models is rather funny, until you notice that the Proton Saga, which dates back to 2005 in its current form, is still going strong in fourth position (5,012).
Honda appears to have a massive resurgence in February, with the City (both sedan and hatchback), HR-V and Civic all doubling their delivery numbers. The City (2,767) now sits above the Toyota Vios (2,064), while more remarkably the HR-V (1,839) outsold the Proton X50 (1,814), and the Civic (1,248) beat the S70 (1,172). However, the CR-V (788) still lost out to the Jaecoo J7 (873), which is the only Chinese-brand model in the list.
The Toyota Alphard – star of January’s sales table when it outsold far more affordable cars like the Proton Persona and S70 – falls right to the bottom of the table with 742 units registered in February (including grey imports). Meanwhile, the Hilux (1,677) is still going strong as both the only pick-up truck and diesel-powered vehicle in the list.
