(Video) Did HK Actor Bosco Wong Really Scold Malaysian Waiters In Viral Clip?

What could be more disappointing to fans than seeing their favourite celebrities go viral for revealing their true colours in a negative light? It’s a harsh reminder that even the most admired public figures can have flaws, leaving fans to question their loyalty.

Well-known Hong Kong actor Bosco Wong (黄宗泽) was just in Malaysia to promote his movie, “The Unwavering Brotherhood (扎职3)”. However, this is not the sole reason for his recent surge in popularity among locals. Recently, a video of the actor posted by Mega Cineplex on Facebook has gone viral. Here’s why:

In the video, the 43-year-old actor can be seen sitting at a table when a female waitress enters the frame to serve his food. Upon noticing that the waitress seemed to have gotten his order wrong, he angrily told her to get the manager. Bosco became even more irritated when another worker brought him a plate of nasi lemak that contained peanuts, exclaiming, “Why did you give me peanuts? A quick search online would tell you that I don’t eat peanuts.”

Although the Hong Kong icon was offered a new plate of food, he slammed the table and shouted, “What time is it? You have to remake it, and I still have to wait?” to the staff. The actor’s bodyguards, also seen in the video, appeared to gang up on the two workers. The video went viral with many questioning what had happened. Thankfully, the truth wasn’t as tense as the situation.

Yesterday (27th August), Mega Cineplex addressed the situation on their Facebook page, where the video had been posted, clarifying that Bosco was merely recreating a scene from “The Unwavering Brotherhood,” in which he portrays a gang leader. “As the lead of the film, Bosco Wong has always conducted himself with integrity and had no intention of deceiving or misusing his fame,” the cinema agency stated. They also took the opportunity to promote the upcoming movie, which is set to be released on 29th August.

Since Bosco is known for his outgoing personality and love for Malaysia, netizens and fans weren’t surprised to learn that the viral video was just a skit. Many even praised the company for their clever marketing strategy, applauding the successful promotion of the new movie.
