Last month, Malaysian-born singer-songwriter Yuna announced that she would be holding an intimate showcase in February at PJPAC. The ETHEREALIS showcase is said to be a 90-minute journey through the singer’s favourite songs, iconic hits, cherished fan favourites, and a few hidden gems that hold a special place in her heart.
Ticket sales have been available since January, and the 38-year-old has been updating fans about her preparations. However, there is apparently one thing that has left Yuna unsatisfied about the upcoming performance.

Earlier this week, Yuna posted a video on her TikTok channel that appeared to shade her friends. In the video, the songstress was seen looking out of the window of her car, with a text caption that reads, “When your friends text you ‘Good luck for the show this weekend!’ but didn’t say they bought tickets to support you.” In the post’s caption, she wrote about how her friends would complain about her not doing enough shows in Kuala Lumpur, yet even then, they wouldn’t show up.
The post has since gone viral, with fans mostly amused by her complaint. Those on TikTok assumed that the singer was probably joking, with some claiming they had already bought tickets to see the show. Others gave excuses for why they wouldn’t be able to watch Yuna’s upcoming performance. There were also a few who pointed out that the musician might be shadowbanned on TikTok, which would explain the lack of interaction surrounding the concert’s promotion.

Those on Twitter suggested that her so-called friends may be hoping for some free tickets to see her concert. Netizens shared their experiences of their friends not fully supporting their business while others advised the singer to move on and focus on what’s more important.
Yuna may be joking about the whole thing, but it wouldn’t necessarily come as a surprise if she was simply venting out. The singer once revealed in an interview how people back in her home country assumed she had forgotten her roots after migrating to the United States. If she was serious, then perhaps Yuna should consider cutting ties with those who may want to take advantage of her fame.
