vivo has launched a new entry-level model from the Y series called the Y04, which is available in certain markets such as Pakistan and Egypt. While the company has not announced a local launch date yet, the budget smartphone has already made an appearance on the SIRIM database, signifying that it will be released here soon.
The Y04 was listed on SIRIM on 24 January 2025 with the model number V2430. While we do not know what the local pricing will be like yet, for reference, it retails in Pakistan at a starting price PKR28,999 (~RM462) for the 4GB+64GB configuration and PKR31,999 (~RM510) configuration.
As for its specs, the vivo Y04 sports a 6.74-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 570 nits. Under the hood, the affordable device runs on a Unisoc T7225 chipset. It comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance as well as shock resistance.
Imaging-wise, it gets a simple setup with a 13MP main camera and a depth sensor on the back, while the front houses a 5MP selfie snapper. Powering it is a large 5,500mAh battery with support for 15W charging. For connectivity, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2, along with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.
