Jalan Masjid India is a popular street for Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley residents to shop during the festive season.
There are many rows of shops and stalls selling various types of textiles and personal jewelry sold at cheap prices. This road is comparable to Petaling Road which is located near Puduraya . Before Hari Raya Aidil Fitri and Hari Raya Aidil Adha , Malays go to buy ready-made Hari Raya clothes at Wisma Yakin . Now there are more choices of Malay clothes and they are sold everywhere.
This street is named in conjunction with the existence of an Indian mosque on this street. Previously, it was known as Dickson Street . There is also an Indian mosque here. This mosque is based on Imam Hambali while the Jamek mosque is based on Imam Syafie .
