Last week, fans and celebrities were hit with the tragic news that actress Shannen Doherty had passed away after a long battle with breast cancer. Many of her “Charmed” and “Beverly Hills 90210″ co-stars paid emotional tribute to her on social media shortly after the news broke out.
It has now been one week since her passing and one of her dearest friends and former cast member Holly Marie Combs, who also starred in “Charmed”, finally opened up during a podcast show about how she’s been doing and her final moments with the late actress. Here’s what she said:
During the latest episode of the “House of Halliwell” podcast yesterday (Monday, 22nd July), Holly Marie Combs along with her castmates Brian Krause and Drew Fuller, paid tribute to their beloved friend. The actress broke down in tears after revealing that Shannen was looking forward to joining them on the podcast. “One of the last times I was with her, we watched the first two episodes [of ‘Charmed’] together in her office and we felt like freaking teenagers again,” she said.
While trying to hold back her tears, the 50-year-old admitted that she believed that her onscreen sister would overcome her illness. “We did think that we had more time. That’s the really sad part cause we had such big plans for this year and she didn’t think she was going anywhere anytime soon. You’d always think you have more time,” she wept.
In addition to the podcast episode, Holly posted a carousel of photos of her and her late friend on Instagram and mentioned that Shannen promised to “haunt” her after she dies one day. “Shannen promised to haunt me but I thought she’d be occupied with a few others at first. Alas, I’m sure it will show up when and where I least expect it,“ the celeb wrote in her captions.
