When it comes to style and design, some are into elegant simplicity, while others feel that more is more.
Regardless of what you’re into, the watch drops we’re highlighting today will float anyone’s boat. From an expertly-crafted timepiece with pearlescent bands, to a creation that affords a lovely view of the the moon, stars, Mars and the Earth from our wrists – here are two timepieces that are truly out of this world.
Bell & Ross BR-03 Astro Watch
Bell & Ross has unveiled its BR-03 Astro, and it’s a knockout! The Earth, Moon and Mars move across the watch’s dial, bringing the wearer closer to the wonders of space and evoking the spirit of space exploration.
The Moon shows the minutes, Mars tracks its orbit to show the hours, and a tiny satellite marks the seconds by completing a full orbit around the Earth in 60 seconds.
The dial’s glass is carved into a spherical cap and housed in a 41mm-wide, micro-blasted black ceramic case, which enables a realistic depiction of Earth in both the decal and the volume.
In order to ensure a balanced and harmonious design, the weight and placement of the hands were carefully considered, particularly to support the engraved Moon.
The International Space Station’s (ISS) Cupola, which serves as a porthole opening onto the planets, was the model for BR-03 Astro. A decal procedure beneath the glass was necessary to preserve accuracy and legibility in this design, which demanded painstaking attention to detail.
The BR-CAL.327 self-winding movement, which beats as the watch’s heart, guarantees a continuous running time of about 54 hours.
With only 999 pieces available, the BR-03 Astro is a coveted timepiece and can be purchased through Bell & Ross’ official webstore for US$4,800 (~RM21,339).
