What We Enjoyed About Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Cafe

If you’re a Pokemon fan and love sugar, spice, and everything nice, you’ll definitely not want to miss out on Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Cafe when you visit Japan. Located at the Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO in Ikebukuro Alpa, Pikachu Sweets is dessert and beverage specialty shop that offers primarily takeouts.

Unlike a sit-down diner, Pikachu Sweets is catered for tourists and frequent shoppers on the go with their takeaway menu. The Pokémon-themed interior and Pokémon-inspired treats make this venue a paradise for all Pokémon fans. After enjoying the games for so many years, we were truly stoked to experience Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Cafe in all its kawaii-ness.

The interior

As soon as you step into Pikachu Sweets, you’ll be greeted by super cute drawings of Pikachu in various uniforms on the wall. The Pokémon Cafe has a pink interior with plenty of Instagrammable wall artworks to spam your social media feed. There are also 2 round standing tables in the shape of a Poké Ball where you can check out a few cute Pokémon illustrations while you wait for your order.

Menu: Poke-ffles

  • Price: 550 Yen (inclusive of tax)
  • Available in 4 flavours

As part of its Autumn menu (as per 25th October), foodies can grab the Pokémon Waffles (Poke-ffles) – now available in 3 new flavours in the form of Vulpix, Zorua and Fennekin, in addition to the fan favourite Pikachu. The selling point is, of course, the adorable ears that pop out of the paper wrap.

Menu: Caramel Pumpkin Frappe

  • Price: 770 Yen (inclusive of tax)

The other seasonal item on the Autumn menu is the Caramel Pumpkin Frappe. Pikachu Sweets has certainly up the ante with their presentation for this beverage by adding more colourful toppings to make it stand out. Unlike the usual Caramel Pumpkin Frappe we’re used to having in Malaysia, this drink is more on the sweeter side. So opt for it if you’re in need of a sugar rush!

Others must-try drinks on the menu

Hisuian Zorua’s Cookie Cream
From left: Pikachu Crackling Juice, Pikachu Spark Soda, Pikachu Hot Milk Tea
  • Price: 605 -880 Yen (inclusive of tax)

If you prefer something less sweet, perhaps you can go for the Hisuian Zorua’s Cookie Cream drink (880 Yen). Blue in colour, the cup features the Normal/Ghost type Pokémon with its hair sticking out the whipped cream. However, for all you diehard Pikachu lovers, we recommend getting one of the following options: Pikachu♀ from Pikachu Sweets is here with a Relax and Chill♪ Nuzzle-up Hot Milk Tea, Pikachu’s Pachi Pachi Pinap Berry Juice (you can literally hear the crackling sound), or Pikachu’s Jelly with Soda Pop.

Colourful Takeaway Desserts

Please don’t judge us but we couldn’t help but let out a child-like squeal when we laid eyes on the range of Chilled Mousse desserts inside the Pikachu Sweets box. The 3 options currently available are Gengar’s Grape Mousse, Pikachu’s Tropical Mousse and Litwick’s Rare Cheese Mousse.
