Worthy Of The Buzz: Fresh Drops From New Balance x Dover Street Market And Bad Bunny x adidas

Float like a butterfly, sting like a sneaker?

Whether you’re buzzing down the track or floating in a field, these kicks from New Balance x DSM and Bad Bunny x adidas are sure to carry you to victory!

New Balance x DSM 991v2

Dover Street Market (DSM), a high-end concept store, and New Balance have partnered to create a limited-edition version of the Boston sneaker brand’s 991v2 MADE in UK model.

With high-end Nubuck leather overlays on the mesh uppers, the all-black version elevates the iconic silhouette of the vintage runner. Reflective accents are added to the tongue’s logo badge and the toe box’s sway bar for a technical touch.

To symbolise the unique collaboration, “DSM” branding is displayed on the tongue, lateral side tab, and tongue emblem. Classic ABZORB and ENCAP features provide additional support and comfort in addition to the full-length FuelCell cushioning.

The “Triple Black” 991v2, which was released in January of this year and was nearly identical except for the reflective details and the DSM workmarks, may seem similar to some. More monochromatic models have been promoted by New Balance recently, both in-house and with special partners.

The all-black models that were recently unveiled include the hybrid loafer 1906L, the 2006A, and the 2002R.

For the TCS London Marathon in March 2024, New Balance and DSM unveiled a second black version of the 991v2, this time with tiny orange and green accents in the midsoles.

In 2022, the regular partners started releasing joint 991 models in a colour scheme reminiscent of New Balance’s signature grey and khaki.

The New Balance x DSM 991v2 is set for release on 22nd February, exclusively at global Dover Street Market stores and the retailer’s web store.

Bad Bunny x adidas Ballerina “Bold Gold”

Bad Bunny and adidas unveiled their new Ballerina silhouette, marking the beginning of the next phase of their collaboration.

The sneaker, which was first released in “Off White” and “Core Black” and is now set to make its debut in a bright “Bold Gold” colourway, was inspired by adidas’s Taekwondo model.

The adidas Ballerina’s suede and textile upper shines in “Bold Gold” in this new sneak peek, while the heel tab and Three Stripes provide black contrast.

The “adidas para Bad Bunny”-branded sole unit prefers a gum finish, while a new gold “benito” wordmark shimmers above the lateral stripes.

The release date of this “Bold Gold” version of the Ballerina silhouette has not yet been formally announced by adidas or Bad Bunny. It’s currently scheduled to launch next month at a starting price of US$120 (~RM530) through a few retailers.
