2 Drops From G-SHOCK And OMEGA x Swatch That We’re Wilding Over

They say there is a watch for every occasion – but these two timepieces are for every day, every second, everywhere!

Regardless of your lifestyle – whether you’re a sophisticated socialite or an adventure-hungry outdoorsman – these two new watch drops will take your look to a whole new level.

G-SHOCK Urban Outdoor Collection

With its shock-resistant design and 20-bar water resistance, each G-SHOCK watch is appropriate for a range of outdoor pursuits, such as water sports, mountaineering, dirt riding, and ATVing.

Streetwear’s fascination with gorpcore is honoured by the brand’s new Urban Outdoor Collection, which features an ergonomic watch face and a very large, intricate case design.

Bad weather sucks, but the GA-010 models look great with leisure wear and cold-season styles like baggy cargo pants and loose-fitting hoodies, as well as giant parkas and puffy puffer coats.

The soft-toned tones of the fabric bands, which compliment rather than shout, add to this style flexibility.  Whereas the GA-010CE-2A exhibits a monochromatic teal colour pattern, the GD-010CE-5 opts for a tonal brown/khaki makeup.

Another area where G-SHOCK demonstrates its green thumb is in the use of bio-based resin for key components like the case, bezel, and lugs. One of the collection’s highlights is a high-capacity battery with a ten-year lifespan.

A 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms, global time in 31 time zones, and a Super Illuminator LED (integrated as a backlight for the GD-010CE-5) are among the standard features that are returning.

The Urban Outdoor Collection is available for purchase now at G-SHOCK’s website. Prices start at US$120 (~RM533) and US$140 (~RM621)!

OMEGA x Swatch MoonSwatch 1965

The MoonSwatch 1965 honours the historic OMEGA Speedmaster’s space flight qualification by NASA in the middle of the 1960s, which was a major turning point in the history of both space exploration and watches.

While the new model’s clean white dial takes inspiration from 2024’s Moonwatch Professional, which evokes a nostalgic vibe with a modern build, it also keeps the visual elements of its original inspiration, such as the OMEGA logo, hands, and famous wordmark.

The MoonSwatch 1965’s primary features include modified chronograph counters that honour the year 1965 by totalling 19 hours at the 10 of the clock position and 65 minutes at the 2 of the clock position.

The Grade A Super-LumiNova® coating on the watch guarantees the best possible visibility in the dark.

The new watch, which is made from Swatch’s proprietary Bioceramic material, has a 42mm case size and a light matte grey appearance.

The tachymeter bezel is a striking solid black colour. The NASA-style VELCRO® strap and caseback, which are engraved with co-branding and the original mission statement, also have a matte grey colour.

The MoonSwatch 1965, which retails for US$270 (~RM1,199), will be available for purchase at select stores on 1st March. To find the nearest store, visit Swatch’s official website.
