You’ll never relive the greatest moment in your life – unless that moment was the time you copped these amazing watches!
From celebrating mankind’s greatest achievements, to marking the first of many centennial anniversaries – these timepieces commemorate the greatest moments in humanity, and make you a part of those moments.
Ulysse Nardin Freak S Watches Of Switzerland Centenary Edition
For almost a century now, the Watches of Switzerland have been providing the UK and the larger world with exceptional timepieces from the Land of Milk and Honey. But as it approaches its centennial anniversary, the British watch retailer needed a commemorative timepiece that it can look back on until the next century. Which is why it has collaborated with Ulysse Nardin and created the Freak S Limited Edition
The 45mm titanium case of the Ulysse Nardin Freak S Watches of Switzerland Centenary Edition is coated in anthracite PVD, and the bezel is made of grey titanium. Its watch face, with its unique dial-less design and flawless UN-251 Manufacture movement, presents an amazing, spaceship-like spectacle.
This unique reference has a vividly coloured crystalium base plate with a shimmering violet tint. Crystalium is formed by crystallising ruthenium, a process that takes days and gives every piece a unique finish. The watch is attached to a “ballistic” rubber strap with a woven appearance and light purple stitches that complement the regal colour scheme.
There will only be ten (10) Ulysse Nardin Freak S Watches of Switzerland Centenary Edition in the world, each £143,870 (~RM807,020), available only through Watches of Switzerland.
Speedmaster “First OMEGA in Space”
One can have many experiences, but the first time will always be special. This holds especially true with OMEGA, as the iconic Swiss watchmaking brand is bringing back its most sought-after timepieces ever, the Speedmaster FOiS (First Omega in Space).
This iconic model goes all the way back to the late ’50s but was unfortunately discontinued in 2021. It is also a famous watch that has made history because NASA astronaut Walter “Wally” Schirra was known to have worn the original CK 2998 FOiS during the 1962 Mercury programme’s Sigma 7 mission.
Well, it’s back – and updated to suit modern tastes. The new FOiS timekeeper, redesigned with a grey-blue CVD dial, accurately replicates the DNA of the vintage model, including the incorporation of vintage Super-LumiNova in the hands and indices. The 39.7mm watch case, which is made of polished stainless steel, has a black aluminium bezel ring and a hallmarked “Dot Over Ninety” tachymeter scale.
The most noticeable change is the thickness. The new model, which measures 13.4 mm, is not only thinner than its predecessors but also contains the most recent version of the calibre that drove the first FOiS models, the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861. A Seahorse medallion, the words “SPEEDMASTER,” “THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE,” and the date “OCTOBER 3, 1962” are all stamped on the caseback.
The new Speedmaster “First OMEGA in Space” is offered in three bracelet options: steel bracelet, black leather, and brown leather straps; ranging in price from US$7,500 – US$7,900 (~RM42,070 – RM43,753) — all of which are available for inquiry through OMEGA’s official website.
