Getting updates for next year in Europe is the 2025 Honda CMX500 Rebel middleweight cruiser. Priced at RM33,899 in Malaysia for 2024, upgrades for the CMX500 Rebel include improved ride comfort, visual impact and everyday practicality.
Rider comfort is improved with a new rear suspension bump stop design improving the ride over rougher surfaces. The seat is re-profiled and redesigned in a new urethane foam to increase rider comfort without any change to the 690mm seat height while handlebar position is tuned for a relaxed ‘natural’ seating position.
Seating arrangements are also improved between pillion and single occupancy with an easy-to-remove pillion pad and rear footpegs. This also allows a wider range of accessories to be fitted. Optional extras are conveniently organised in to newly curated packs or as individually available items and include a rear rack, backrest, tank pads, flyscreen, nylon or leather saddlebags.
Alongside the CMX500 Rebel is the ‘S’ model variant. This adds a factory-fitted headlight cowl with smoke screen, retro style front fork covers and gaiters, and a special brown diamond-stitch style seat and bronze wheels.
Colour options for the CMX500 Rebel are the new Mat Dim Gray Metallic which joins the current Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic. The CMX500 S Rebel gets Candy Energy Orange alongside the Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic paint scheme.
Otherwise, no other changes to the CMX500 Rebel with the engine a liquid-cooled parallel-twin displacing 471 cc fed by PGM-Fi mated to a six-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. Power is rated at 45.59 hp at 8,500 rpm and 43.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
