Apple Reportedly Ends Production Of FineWoven Accessories Due To Durability Issues

0

Apple has reportedly stopped production of its FineWoven accessories, according to Apple leaker Kosutami. Posting on X, the leakster alleges that the tech giant has given up on its relatively new FineWoven lineup due to durability issues.

In case you’re not familiar with the product series, the Cupertino firm introduced the FineWoven lineup as an eco-friendly replacement for leather, offering accessories such as phone cases and watch bands. When it started shipping out, the fabric-like material was panned by customers and reviewers alike, mostly due to its poor durability, with many reporting noticeable damage with minimal use.

Kosutami claims that Apple will be moving to another material for its future accessories but that it will still stay away from real leather. FineWoven was described the company as “luxurious and durable microtwill” made from 68% post-consumer recycled polyester.

On the brand’s Malaysian website, the accessories are still being sold as per usual. The FineWoven iPhone cases and MagSafe wallet cost RM279, while an AirTag case retails for RM199. Bands for the Apple Watch start from RM449 and can go up to RM599 for a buckle band.
