(Video) “Many Are Bankrupt”: Zarina Anjoulie Reveals Local Celebs Don’t Make Enough Money

Actress Fasha Sandha has proven that you don’t actually need to break the bank to look like a million bucks and while we do have millionaires in the entertainment industry, the harsh reality is that many have struggled to make ends meet nowadays. Actress Zarina Anjoulie previously stated that she earns more as an influencer than she did as an actress.

Despite that, she doesn’t mind not ever living the glamorous lifestyle as she has always prioritised putting food on the table. However, the same thing cannot be said about some of her peers who she claimed to have ended up bankrupt because they’ve been overspending to live the luxurious lifestyle. Here’s what she said:

In a snippet posted yesterday (Wednesday, 5th June) of her upcoming appearance on Astro Gempak’s “No Filter” show, without mentioning any names, the actress revealed that celebrities in Malaysia may not be as rich as they appear. In the interview that will be up next week, the entrepreneur shared that many of them have gone bankrupt or are on the verge of bankruptcy because they have been spending outside of their means.

“Celebrities try to project this image that they’re rich and living a fancy life but in reality, I know some who are bankrupt. I’m not that rich, in fact, I’m broke most of the time and that’s okay. That’s the reality we live in cause celebrities in Malaysia don’t actually make a lot of money,” she said. The mother-of-one then expressed her concerns for fans who may want to copy the luxurious lifestyle.

“There are a lot of fans out there who felt the desire to live a similar lifestyle and they’re willing to do anything to achieve that. What they don’t know is that many of their favourite artists made deals with loan sharks, and are in a lot of debt. Why do you want to live like that?” she elaborated. The video ended with the actress saying that she’s been trying to educate the public to spend their money more wisely and not fall for anything they see on social media.

As seen in the comments above, many agreed with Zarina’s statement that celebrities don’t actually make a lot of money from one source of income. Some pointed out that there are celebs who would start their own businesses or do side hustles to earn more money while others commented that one should always live the life they can afford to and not overspend.

The full interview will come out next Monday (10th June) but here’s the snippet below:
