Maurice de Mauriac and Racquet have once again joined forces to bring you the pinnacle of fashionable yet functional sporting equipment in the form of the new, limited-edition Rallymaster III timepiece.

As the name suggests, the watch commemorates the third time the two brands joined forces to create a timepiece for the tennis season.

With Carlton DeWoody returning to design the watch, the Rallymaster III follows in the footsteps of its predecessors – with a few key differences. DeWoody, who is most recognised for his interior design work, draws inspiration from the distinctive graphic dials of the 1960s and 1970s, as well as tennis, his passion.

In its previous form, the timepiece featured several noteworthy tones, such as soft pinks and pastels. This time around, the Rallymaster III features a more grounded but equally unique design, featuring a green and tan combination.

Zooming into the dial itself, we can see the meticulous attention to detail required to recreate a traditional tennis court, from the olive green meant to represent the grass, to the white grid in the centre that’s meant to represent the net. You can also argue that the hour markers are tennis balls; this and the watch hands glow a vibrant neon blue in the dark.

A subdial that displays the seconds is located at 9 o’clock, which is reminiscent of Neapolitan ice cream. Opposite that is the date aperture, which is further isolated from the piece by a small glass dome.

Powering this 39mm piece is the Swiss-made Landeron 24 automatic movement, which boasts precision timekeeping and 40 hours of reserve power. You can see what makes this watch tick through the open caseback, which also features Racquet’s logo, which is topped with an olive-green and pink graphic imprint.

Available for pre-order now through Maurice de Mauriac’s official website, the Rallymaster III retails for US$2,400 (RM11,256). Along with the watch, you’ll also receive two neutral-hued textile straps, with a co-branded tennis ball included with your purchase. With only 100 pieces available, this creation is sure to put a smile on the face of any tennis or watch fan.
